Milk Chilling & Transportation

The milk procurement process at Sudama Dairy is a well-organized and essential step in ensuring the delivery of high-quality dairy products to consumers. This process begins at the grassroots level, where milk is collected by Village Co-Operative Societies, which are composed of local dairy farmers. These cooperative societies act as crucial intermediaries between the farmers and Sudama Dairy, facilitating a fair and efficient milk procurement system.

 

Twice a day, the village cooperative societies gather the freshly obtained milk and send it to Sudama Dairy’s Chilling Centers. These small vehicles play a pivotal role in transporting the milk swiftly to maintain its freshness and quality. This frequent collection schedule ensures that the milk is as fresh as possible, enhancing its taste and nutritional value.

 

Upon arrival at the Chilling Centers, the milk undergoes a series of meticulous quality checks. Sudama Dairy’s dedicated team conducts testing to detect basic adulteration and assess the milk’s viscosity. These tests are crucial in guaranteeing that only pure, unadulterated milk is processed further, maintaining Sudama Dairy’s commitment to quality.

 

To extend the shelf life of the fresh milk by a day or two, a cooling process is employed. This cooling step helps to preserve the milk’s freshness and prevent spoilage, ensuring that consumers receive a product that is both safe and delicious.

After passing the quality checks and cooling, the milk is transferred to tankers. These tankers are specially designed to maintain the milk at pre-maintained temperatures, safeguarding its quality during transit. This temperature control is critical, as it prevents the milk from deteriorating and ensures that it reaches its destination in optimal condition.

 

Ultimately, the milk is transported from the Chilling Centers to the main processing unit or, in some cases, directly to the Mother Dairy. This careful handling and transportation process ensures that the milk retains its freshness and nutritional value, resulting in high-quality dairy products that consumers can trust.
